The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated Izz al-Din Bikh, commander of Hamas's northern Gaza brigade, in an overnight strike Tuesday in the Gaza Strip. According to the joint statement, Bikh was involved in planning terror attacks against IDF forces and worked to recruit new operatives into Hamas.
"The IDF eliminated Izz al-Din Bikh overnight in Gaza, commander of the northern Gaza brigade in the Hamas terror organization, who was involved in planning terror attacks against our forces and worked to recruit terror operatives into the organization," the statement said.
The prime minister and defense minister praised the IDF and Shin Bet operation that led to the elimination of the northern brigade commander. "We commend the IDF and Shin Bet for their determined activity against Hamas commanders and terrorists. We will continue to hunt and pursue all the organization's terrorists, from its commanders to the last of its operatives, wherever they hide, until there is no Hamas in Gaza," they said.
