The terrorist who was eliminated

The IDF announced Thursday that it eliminated Mohammed Abd al-Aziz Mohammed Najjar in a strike carried out Wednesday in the southern Gaza Strip.

Najjar was a terrorist in the military wing of Hamas and participated in the infiltration into Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre.

The IDF noted that following his elimination, Najjar was presented in various reports as a journalist, but according to the military, these publications omitted his affiliation with the military wing of Hamas.

Najjar continued his activities in recent months and advanced terror operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. In addition, he worked to restore Hamas's capabilities in the Strip, in what the military defines as a systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Prior to the strike, the IDF took a series of steps designed to minimize the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.

Southern Command forces continue to be deployed in the Strip in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. The IDF emphasized that it will continue to act to remove immediate threats to its forces and to Israeli civilians.
