Benayahu: "I'm not left-wing"

Avi Benayahu responds to criticism after attacking PM Netanyahu ahead of elections: I'm a tinok shenishba, a child who was brainwashed in the kibbutz

Avi Benayahu

Avi Benayahu, who served as IDF spokesman, attacked Prime Minister Netanyahu on Thursday ahead of the upcoming elections.

In his remarks, Benayahu wrote: "Netanyahu is running for election with a worn-out toolbox of sowing panic, fear, warnings, survival and existential danger to Israel. The response of Eisenkot and his bloc partners to Netanyahu and his advisers' spin about 'establishing a Palestinian state,' 'a government with Abbas,' 'Yair Golan as Internal Security Minister,' etc., must be one, single and sharp: 'We will do everything together, including everything within the law, to remove this evil government from its place. Everything.'"

The Torat Lechima organization attacked Benayahu and claimed: "When Rav Druckman wrote that everything must be done to prevent the government from forming, the media asked him to clarify that he wasn't calling for incitement."

"When Avi Benayahu says everything must be done to prevent the government from forming, it passes quietly. Remember - you must not accept moral lectures from the left. Ever."

Benayahu responded: "I'm not left-wing. I'm a tinok shenishba. The son of immigrants from Syria in south Tel Aviv who was sent in his youth to a kibbutz and underwent brainwashing there, and later, when he completed 're-education,' was planted by the kibbutz movement, Mapam and its Soviet patrons, and the Wexner Foundation, into command of IDF Radio through Defense Minister Fuad and Chief of Staff Mofaz, who were also tinokot shenishbu. That's how I ended up here."
