Red Alert sirens sounded Sunday in Kibbutz Nir Oz near the Gaza border, breaking more than a month of quiet in the area.
The IDF said the incident was under review. Minutes later, the military confirmed the alert had been triggered by erroneous detection and that no threat had entered Israeli territory.
Nir Oz, one of the communities hardest hit on October 7, has seen sporadic alerts in recent months as the IDF maintains operations inside Gaza. The kibbutz remains largely evacuated, with most residents still displaced.
