The British government is in advanced stages of assembling a new package of measures to be implemented against Israel, according to reports. The initiative is expected to see dozens of countries present Israel with an extensive list of demands regarding Gaza, including a massive influx of aid for the winter period and opening the Strip to international organizations and journalists.
According to the reports, the move will include submission of a comprehensive list of requirements to the Israeli government. The demands are expected to include removal of restrictions on humanitarian aid entry across the board, including building materials, expansion of international aid organizations' operations, and granting access to journalists and diplomatic delegations to the Strip.
The initiative is being advanced by Britain's left-wing government under the Labour Party, which only about two months ago launched a broad campaign against Israel under the heading "Action for Gaza." Britain is currently working to recruit a wide coalition of countries, with diplomatic sources pointing to the figure of 50 nations as a target to be reached in the foreseeable future.
