“Is This Enough Now?”: Daughter of Bondi Shooting Victim Confronts ABC News Over Biased Coverage | WATCH
Victoria Teplitsky, daughter of a wounded Holocaust survivor, stunned ABC news anchors by accusing their station of biased reporting that fueled the antisemitic atmosphere leading to the deadly Bondi Beach terror attack.

A Confrontation on Live Television
In a powerful and emotionally charged interview on Tuesday, Victoria Teplitsky turned the tables on ABC correspondents James Glenday and Emma Rebellato. Asked how she was feeling after the Islamic State inspired terrorist attack that left 15 dead and dozens injured, Teplitsky delivered a blistering critique of the media and the Australian government.
“How are we feeling?” Teplitsky asked. “Is this what you wanted? Is this enough now? Will you listen to us? Prime Minister Albanese, Foreign Minister Penny Wong, will you listen to us? Will you actually do something?”
Teplitsky’s father, Semyon, remains hospitalized with severe leg injuries after being shot during the celebration. She expressed a profound sense of betrayal by Australian leadership, stating that the Jewish community no longer believes the government’s empty words of support after two years of rising hostility.
The Role of the Media in Fostering Hate
Addressing the ABC reporters directly, Teplitsky challenged the station to reflect on its own role in the changing social climate in Australia. “And ABC, I’ve got to say, will you cut out the biased reporting... will you actually let us have a voice?” she demanded.
Teplitsky argued that the news organization’s coverage of Israel related issues and the explosion of antisemitism following the October 7 massacre by Hamas terrorists has contributed to the isolation and targeting of Jewish Australians. She noted that while she is not a religious woman, the surge in hatred has forced her to embrace her identity more publicly. “Since October 7th, since all the hatred that’s been thrown at us, I started to wear my Magen David because I’m Jewish,” she shared. “ABC, please stop with the biased reporting.”
A Community Under Siege
The Bondi shooting, carried out by a father and son duo identified as Sajid and Naveed Akram, is the deadliest terror incident in modern Australian history. The attackers targeted a "Hanukkah by the Sea" event, firing over 100 rounds into a crowd of families. Among the dead were a 10-year-old girl, a rabbi, and another Holocaust survivor who died while shielding his wife.
Teplitsky’s comments echo a wider sentiment within the Jewish community, which had warned the government for months about the "pattern of unprecedented harassment" and incitement. Despite the gravity of her accusations, the ABC reporters remained silent and did not respond to her claims of bias during the broadcast.
