According to an official statement issued by the Qatari Amiri Diwan, President Trump and Sheikh Tamim reviewed broader regional developments and evaluated ongoing diplomatic efforts to deescalate tensions between the United States and Iran.
The official release noted that President Trump praised Qatar's active diplomatic role under Sheikh Tamim's leadership in facilitating dialogue between the parties.
During the discussion, the Qatari Amir emphasized the critical importance of maintaining diplomatic channels to resolve outstanding issues. Sheikh Tamim specifically highlighted the necessity for all participating nations to uphold existing commitments.
"All parties must adhere to what was agreed upon within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran," Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stated during the call.
