Popular Marxist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker openly admitted during a live stream this week that Shanghai-based American billionaire Neville Roy Singham has acted as a major “funding vehicle” for “a lot of political movements” and activism across the United States.

Piker made the remarks while responding to reports that he and CodePink co-founder Medea Benjamin received Treasury Department subpoenas over their participation in the March 2026 “Nuestra América Convoy” to Cuba. The federal probe is examining possible violations of U.S. sanctions against the Communist regime.

Referring to Singham casually as “Roy,” Piker said:“He’s been a funding vehicle for a lot of like political, uh, a lot of political movements in the country, a lot of activism… They’re trying to jam him up… That’s the goal here… They get to chill speech.”

According to investigations by Fox News Digital and congressional committees, Singham, an American tech tycoon who sold his company ThoughtWorks for hundreds of millions and now lives in Shanghai, has funneled approximately $278–285 million since 2017 into a network of U.S. nonprofits. These include CodePink, The People’s Forum, the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), ANSWER Coalition, and others.

These groups have organized large-scale protests, supported anti-U.S. causes, and maintained close ties to regimes in China, Cuba, and beyond. Critics argue that 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofits are not supposed to function as political operations or foreign influence vehicles.

Piker claimed the real target of the scrutiny is Singham’s broader network rather than himself personally, and suggested without evidence that Trump Administration National Security Advisor Sebastian Gorka is behind it.

The subpoenas are part of a wider federal review by the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Justice Department, and other agencies into whether activists violated Cuba sanctions through financing, logistics, or coordination with Cuban government entities. Up to 40 Americans who participated in the Cuba convoy are reportedly under scrutiny.
