Danish police deployed batons and K9 units (police dogs) yesterday to disperse activists who blockaded the headquarters of shipping giant A.P. Møller-Maersk in central Copenhagen.

Around 100 protesters from the Danish environmental group Den Grønne Ungdomsbevægelse (Green Youth Movement) gathered outside Maersk’s Esplanaden building on Wednesday morning. They accused the company of continuing to transport military equipment and weapons components to Israel despite ongoing regional conflicts.

Police moved in after the activists refused to leave private property. Officers issued dispersal orders, then used physical force, including batons and police dogs, to remove those who remained. Approximately 20 activists were arrested and charged, mainly for unlawful entry and failure to disperse. No serious injuries were reported.

Videos circulating on social media show officers dragging protesters away and dogs being deployed during the clearance operation. Many praised the police response as necessary to restore order and prevent disruption to a major international company.

Maersk has previously stated that it adheres to international guidelines and UN/OECD standards. The company says it does not transport weapons to active conflict zones, although its U.S. operations have handled non-classified military cargo under government contracts.

This incident is part of the ongoing international “Mask Off Maersk” campaign targeting the shipping firm over its alleged role in military logistics. Similar protests have taken place in Denmark and other European cities in recent months.

Copenhagen Police confirmed the action was taken to secure the building and public order. The case is under investigation.
