IDF Destroys Mojtaba Khamenei's Official Aircraft in Heart of Tehran

The Israeli Air Force destroyed an aircraft belonging to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in a strike overnight at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport, according to reports released Monday morning.

The aircraft was reportedly targeted during Israeli operations carried out between Sunday night and early Monday as the war between Israel, the United States, and Iran continues to intensify.

According to Israeli sources, the plane associated with Khamenei was located on the ground at the airport when it was struck and destroyed. The attack appears to be part of Israel’s broader campaign targeting Iranian leadership assets and strategic infrastructure during the conflict.

The strike comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding Khamenei’s condition and whereabouts. Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed Iran’s supreme leader after his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in an Israeli missile strike during the opening phase of the war.

Since his appointment, Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared publicly. His first address to the Iranian public was delivered through a statement read on state television while his photograph was displayed on screen rather than appearing in person.

Reports last week suggested he had been wounded during earlier strikes in the conflict, though Iranian authorities have not provided clear details about his condition. US officials have also raised doubts about his ability to lead during the ongoing war.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said recently that Mojtaba Khamenei was believed to be wounded and possibly disfigured, while other American officials have suggested the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps may currently be exercising significant control inside Iran.

The destruction of Khamenei’s aircraft could limit the Iranian leader’s ability to move between locations at a time when Israeli and American forces are continuing to target military and government assets across the country.

While it remains unclear whether the strike was intended specifically to target the aircraft or simply occurred as part of broader attacks on Tehran’s airport infrastructure, the loss of the plane adds another layer of pressure on Iran’s leadership as the conflict continues to unfold.
