Christian Lebanese Forces party assigns at least some blame to Hezbollah for LF coordinator's murder

The LF stated that they would consider it a "political assassination until proven otherwise," though Lebanese authorities dispute this assertion.

The abduction and murder of Pascal Sleiman, the Jbeil coordinator for the Christian party Lebanese Forces, has the country on edge, with the LF saying that it presumes the murder to be an assassination unless proven otherwise, according to Lebanese news portal Naharnet.

Naharnet also reports that the army and Lebanese authorities have argued the murder to be the result of a car theft rather than a political assassination. The murder has also inflamed tensions with Syrian refugees in Lebanon, with some of them being arrested in connection with the murder.
