The US Department of Defense released a video today marking 251 years since the founding of the United States Navy.
The footage presents the Navy's power through dramatic scenes of warships and destroyers in port, cockpit flights of fighter jets in the skies, crew members dedicated to maintaining freedom of navigation, and military exercises at sea and on land.
The video also features ceremonial formations of sailors in uniform, aircraft launches from carriers by day and night, operation of advanced defense systems, and moments honoring the service's heritage across generations.
The US Navy is the largest, most advanced and most powerful naval force in the world, serving as a central strategic arm of America's military strength.
With a fleet that includes over ten nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, strategic submarines and hundreds of warships, the Navy operates across all the world's oceans to ensure international freedom of navigation, deter adversaries and respond rapidly to crises at any point on the globe. Beyond combat missions, the US Navy serves as a central pillar in protecting global trade routes and delivering humanitarian aid to disaster zones.
