Deputy Knesset Speaker and Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee member MK Nissim Vaturi (Likud) issued a stark warning Thursday regarding the escalating tensions with Iran, stating that Israel may be on the verge of renewed direct military confrontation with Tehran.

In an interview with Kol Barama Radio, Vaturi conveyed an unusually specific assessment about the timeline for potential escalation. "We are closer than ever to returning to combat with Iran," the senior Likud lawmaker stated, emphasizing that the current security window represents a critical juncture.

"Think Twice Before Flying Next Week"

Vaturi's assessment took on a more personal dimension when he offered concrete advice about air travel, illustrating the heightened state of alert among Israeli security officials. "This coming weekend I would still fly, but next week I would think twice about flying," the MK clarified during the interview.

Regional Tensions at Critical Point

The warning from Vaturi, who sits on the Knesset's most sensitive security committee, reflects growing concern among Israeli lawmakers about Iran's strategic posture.

Intelligence assessments suggest that despite public declarations about Iran's diminished military capacity, Tehran has quietly restored significant portions of its missile infrastructure. The regime continues to leverage its closure of the Strait of Hormuz as economic leverage, even as it faces severe domestic hardship with food inflation exceeding 115 percent.
