The incident of violence in Petah Tikva: 7 suspects arrested

After 4 teenagers who were part of the violent incident in Petah Tikva were arrested tonight, the police announced that seven minors are now being investigated on suspicion of involvement in the incident

After the severe incidents of violence recorded yesterday (Monday) in Petah Tikva, and after the arrest of four minors who were involved in the incident, the police are now reporting that they have arrested two more suspects and that one of those involved turned himself in. A total of seven minor suspects are now being investigated.

Central District Commander - Superintendent Avi Biton instructed to prioritize the investigation in the district's order of priority in view of the seriousness and circumstances, when all the intelligence, technology and investigation systems of the Central District, take part and assist the Petah Tikva station, in order to reach the truth and bring justice to the perpetrators of the crimes. In accordance with the needs of the investigation, extension of the arrest of the suspects will be examined by the High Court.

As you may recall, after videos were circulated on the networks in which four boys are seen beating another boy, tonight (c) the police arrested those boys on suspicion of involvement in a series of serious violent incidents. Petah Tikva police officers started an investigation tonight, after receiving videos online documenting serious incidents of violence in the city between two groups of boys, when, despite the lack of an official complaint and concrete information, the investigating unit was able to form a quick picture of the situation and the identity of the suspects.

In the meantime, the station's investigators, in cooperation with the intelligence systems of the Central District, were able to identify those involved, along with examining the sequence of events in which it was allegedly observed in the first video - a group of boys threatening and hitting a boy with a gun and in the second recording - an attack by the rival group against one of the suspects in the first attack.

As mentioned, Central District police officers have so far arrested four suspects aged 15-17 for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the violent incidents, while searching and seizing documentation in their possession, alongside conducting further investigations to locate and arrest the others involved accordingly.

Central District Commander - Superintendent Avi Biton directed all the relevant units in the district to continue to use all the necessary investigative, technological, and intelligence measures, to advance the investigation and emphasized that the seriousness of the crimes, the scope, and the age of those involved require strict enforcement at all levels.
