The commander of "The Fire" (98) Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Dan Goldfus, awarded a commendation last night to Lieutenant Nadav, who served as a team commander in the "Tzefa" (202) Battalion in the Paratroopers Brigade and was injured during an incident in the city of David.

As a reminder, last January, during a patrol in the city of David, an armed terrorist opened fire towards Nadav and his family, resulting in severe injuries to Nadav and his father. Nevertheless, Nadav acted with determination, courageously grabbed his weapon, and engaged the terrorist.

The Commendation Award was presented to him for "his immediate response, determination, and engagement, saving the lives of his family and rescuing other civilians present at the scene."

During the presentation of the Commendation Award, the brigade commander stated that "in his courageous and determined actions in a complex situation, Lieutenant Nadav serves as an example and a role model for IDF soldiers and commanders."

The Commendation Award was given as part of a ceremony for outstanding individuals in "The Fire" (98) Brigade, which took place at the Beit Lid.

Additionally, the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brigadier General Avi Balot, awarded a Commendation Award to the Technology and Maintenance Officer of the Menasheh Division, Major Sao Nafaso, last night.

In the explanation, it is written that "The Commendation Award was granted to the officer for his various activities over the past year, during which he repeatedly engaged in contact and acted time and time again out of a sense of duty and responsibility. The officer operated selflessly under fire, with determination and professionalism, to rescue forces and equipment during activities in which the forces were exposed to heavy gunfire, explosives, and disorder."

Among other things, Sao took part in the mission to rescue the injured soldiers who ran into an explosive device while on a vehicle during operational activity in Jenin last June. He acted with determination and professionalism.

As part of the reasons for receiving the Commendation Award, the brigade commander wrote that "the determination, leadership, courage, and cool-headedness he displayed are inspiring and set an example for IDF soldiers and commanders."

The Commendation Award was presented during a ceremony for outstanding individuals in the Judea and Samaria Division, held in Ma'ale Adumim.
