This evening at 5:00 PM, a meeting between the headquarters of the abducted families and the president took place.

During his visit, he held a meeting with the head of the Ashkelon Coast Council, Itamar Revivo, as well as with Home Front Command personnel and those providing support and assistance to the residents of Kibbutz Zikim and Netiv HaAsara. "Establishing a unity government - to show that we are not divided"

Herzog spoke about the meeting with the families who evacuated from the southern settlements: "I met very strong people who have endured a heavy disaster and a terrible trauma. They are our brothers and sisters who are still in shock from the severe blow, while showing extraordinary mental strength, and expecting answers simultaneously.

"They are waiting to see how the country organizes itself to provide them with basic answers: housing, livelihood, long-term plans, strengthening the psychological and physical aspects, and, of course, the overall community support."
