Following the announcement about the rescue of the body of IDF martyr Noa Marciano from the captivity of Hamas in Gaza, the IDF spokesman published additional details about the rescue operation.

According to the IDF spokesman, the recovery of the body was made possible following preliminary intelligence information from the Shin Bet on the location of the body, and not randomly on the way to the Shifa Hospital.

When the forces arrived at the scene, they located the body in the exact location given to them by the Shin Bet.

The operation to retrieve the body was carried out yesterday and after the body was removed from the Gaza Strip and brought to Israel, it underwent a rapid identification procedure by the military rabbinate and the medical corps. The message was then conveyed to her family and she will be brought to the burial during the day.

The IDF spokesman announced this morning that the body of the IDF martyr, the late Corporal Noa Marciano HY"D, was recovered by IDF forces from the 603rd Battalion of the 7th Brigade Combat Team, from a building near the Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip into the territory of the State of Israel.

After an identification procedure carried out by medical officials and military rabbis, last night IDF representatives informed the family of the late Marciano, an IDF female soldier who was kidnapped by a terrorist organization, that her body had been recovered and returned to the territory of the State of Israel.

The IDF stated: "The IDF participates in the grief of the family and will continue to accompany them. The national mission before our eyes is to locate the missing and return the abductees home. The IDF works closely and in full coordination with the relevant national and security bodies in order to fulfill these tasks, and will not let up until they are completed.".

Yesterday it was allowed to be published that the body of the abductee Judith Weiss was rescued by an IDF engineering force from Battalion 603 from a building near Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip into the territory of the State of Israel. Judith Weiss, 64, from Kibbutz Be'eri, was a cancer patient, which was discovered in her body a few months ago Her husband Shmulik was murdered in a massacre at Kibbutz Be'eri.
