Suspicious Envelopes Sent to Israeli Embassies in Paris and Brussels
Security agencies investigate suspicious mailings to Israeli embassies amid rising threats against officials at home and abroad

Israel’s Foreign Ministry confirmed Wednesday that suspicious envelopes were delivered to its embassies in Paris and Brussels. Local security agencies are currently examining the contents of the packages.
“All embassy staff are safe,” the ministry emphasized in a brief statement.
The incident follows a concerning pattern of similar threats in recent months. In Israel, numerous suspicious letters have been sent to members of Knesset and government ministers, particularly those from the ruling coalition. The envelopes have at times contained unknown substances, suspicious powders, or personal threats.
Speaking at the Knesset's National Security Committee on Tuesday, senior police official Commander Gilad Behat said the recent wave of incidents represents an escalation in threats against public officials.
“Public figures need to take responsibility for their statements as well,” Behat noted, while adding that police are treating these threats very seriously.
“A significant investigative effort is underway. I cannot disclose specific details, but every resource at the disposal of the Israel Police is being used in these investigations,” he said.
The latest international incidents have raised concerns about the export of politically motivated threats beyond Israel’s borders. Investigations in both France and Belgium are ongoing.
