Owners of Electric Bicycles and Scooters Now Required to Register Vehicles for Licenses

According to Transportation Ministry estimates, there are about 100-150,000 electric scooters in Israel, and a similar number of electric bicycles.

The Ministry of Transportation has announced new regulations requiring the owners of all electric scooters and bicycles to register their vehicle and receive a license for them, according to reporting by Calcalist.

According to the report, owners of vehicles, including citizens over 16 and foreign workers, have half a year to comply with the new regulations, and a designated app and web page has been set up for the convenience of electric scooter and bicycle owners. The information will then be entered into a national database.
