Rand Paul’s Son Goes on Drunken Tirade Against Jews and Gays at DC Bar
From blaming "your people" for election losses to wishing death upon the LGBTQ+ community, the fallout from Rand's son "reprehensible" outburst is rocking Capitol Hill.

William Paul, the 33-year-old eldest son of U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), launched into an expletive-filled antisemitic and anti-gay rant at a popular Capitol Hill bar on Tuesday night.
According to eyewitnesses, including Rep. Mike Lawler (R-New York) and a reporter from NOTUS, William Paul approached their table at the Tune Inn bar and identified himself as Sen. Rand Paul’s son. What began as a political discussion quickly escalated into a roughly 10-minute drunken tirade.
Paul reportedly said:
“This war, it’s all about the gays and the Jews, and I hate them both, and I don’t care if they die.”
He also told Lawler “your people” would be blamed if Rep. Thomas Massie loses his primary, then clarified “your people” meant Jews. At one point he apologized to Lawler for mistakenly thinking he was Jewish. Witnesses described him as highly intoxicated, knocking over barstools and flipping off the congressman before leaving.
The following day, William Paul posted on X:
“Last night, I had too much to drink and said some things that don’t represent who I really am. I’m sorry and today I am seeking help for my drinking problem.”
Rep. Mike Lawler condemned the remarks, calling them “reprehensible” and “f—ing disgusting,” adding that being drunk is no excuse.
This is not William Paul’s first alcohol-related incident. He has a prior DUI on his record.
Senator Rand Paul has not issued a public statement on the matter.
