Hidden in rolls of fabric: the smuggling of 30 kg of tobacco from Egypt to the Gaza Strip through the Nitzana crossing was thwarted.

The vigilance of the Nitzana customs inspectors prevented the smuggling of 30 kg of tobacco from Egypt to the Gaza Strip. The customs inspectors discovered the tobacco during a routine inspection of a fabric shipment that arrived by truck at the Nitzana terminal and was intended for an importer in the Gaza Strip. Upon thorough inspection, the tobacco was found hidden inside the fabric rolls. The findings were forwarded for investigation in the narcotics unit of the Transit Customs House.
