In Nazareth, an underground tunnel was uncovered that is suspected to have been used for smuggling combat equipment by criminal organizations, as well as serving as a hiding place for criminals.

According to the police statement, the tunnel was found in an abandoned house. After a search by the forces, weaponry and additional findings were discovered at the location.

According to sources in the police, "The size of the tunnel is estimated to be dozens of meters, and it branches into three rooms where suspects from a criminal organization reportedly hid during operations by the Northern District police in the city of Nazareth. Combat equipment was seized."

Against the backdrop of escalating violence within the Arab sector, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened the Supplementary Committee for Combating Crime in Arab Society yesterday (Wednesday) and decided that the Shabak security service will assist the Israeli police in enforcement efforts. The meeting was held due to the significant increase in violence in the Arab streets, seemingly indicating a shift in focus by criminal organizations towards attempting to influence the outcomes of local Arab municipal elections through violence and political killings.
