A gunman opened fire at Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district today, killing four people and injuring three before taking his own life, Thai police confirmed. The attack, which occurred around noon near the Bang Sue police station, sent panic through the popular fresh food market known for its high-quality produce and tourist crowds.
According to the Erawan Emergency Medical Centre, the victims included three security guards and one female vendor. The suspect, identified by local media as a 61-year-old man named Mr. Noi, was a former colleague of the guards. CCTV footage, reported by Matichon, showed him wearing a black T-shirt, cream shorts, and a camouflage backpack worn on his front. He shot the guards at close range and chased the vendor, who pleaded, “Please don’t hurt me, I don’t know anything,” before he killed her behind a seafood stall. The gunman then sat on a market bench and shot himself.
