Dave Portnoy Says He Won't Send Family to University of Michigan if El-Sayed Wins Senate Race | WATCH

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who is Jewish, escalated his feud with Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed on Sunday. Appearing on Fox News' "The Sunday Briefing," he said he would not send his niece and nephew to the University of Michigan if El-Sayed wins next month's election.

"Everything about him makes me puke," Portnoy said, accusing El-Sayed of dodging questions about what he called a "million red flags." Portnoy, a Michigan graduate who has said he will pay for his young relatives' college educations, added that El-Sayed may still win, "but it's scary times in Michigan."

The feud began on October 10, when El-Sayed, also a Michigan alumnus, joked about the university's football sign-stealing scandal. "Is Michigan going to win a game without cheating? I say this as a Wolverine," he said in a video clip. Portnoy responded on X: "This guy really is a terrorist."

El-Sayed's Republican opponent, former Rep. Mike Rogers, shared Portnoy's post and wrote that he was "exactly right." Asked whether Rogers actually believed El-Sayed was a terrorist, a campaign spokeswoman told The Detroit News that parroting Ohio State talking points was "a bridge too far."

El-Sayed hit back with a clip of Portnoy struggling to sprint on a turf field, joking that he was "committing an act of athletic terrorism" and adding: "Less pizza, more gym, habibi."

The exchange comes as El-Sayed faces scrutiny over his stance on Islamist groups. In an October 5 interview, Fox News host Martha MacCallum repeatedly asked whether he supported terrorist designations for Muslim Brotherhood organizations. El-Sayed said he would support designating groups engaged in political violence, but did not name the Brotherhood. He also recently confirmed that his sister-in-law took part in a class action lawsuit over the federal terrorist watchlist. El-Sayed has publicly condemned Hamas.
