Some desserts don't require elaborate preparation, and chocolate balls fall squarely into that category. With a handful of basic ingredients, ten minutes of work, no oven, and minimal dishes to wash, you can produce a soft, chocolate-rich treat suitable for last-minute entertaining or satisfying a sweet tooth.
Ingredients:
250 grams cookies or biscuits
100 grams dark chocolate
½ cup milk
50 grams butter
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Shredded coconut for coating
Preparation:
- Crush the cookies into fine crumbs and transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Melt the chocolate, butter, and milk together until the mixture becomes smooth.
- Stir in the cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the cookie crumbs and mix thoroughly until the texture is suitable for shaping.
- Form small balls with your hands and roll each one in shredded coconut.
- Refrigerate for at least half an hour to allow the balls to firm up.
For a dairy-free version, simply substitute plant-based milk for regular milk and replace the butter with margarine or coconut oil.
