Bagel Café: 8 new branches by 2027

The kosher chain, known for New York-style bagels baked fresh on-site, is investing 8 million shekels to grow from 15 to 23 locations nationwide

Research cleared up the numbers. The original press release, as carried by Kipa on October 26, says three of the eight new branches are already open (Kiryat Ono, Hadera and Petah Tikva) and five are under construction (TLV Mall in Tel Aviv, the 1000 complex in Rishon LeZion, Beit Shemesh, Be'er Sheva and Holon), bringing the chain from 15 to 20 branches. The "23" in your draft double-counts the three that already opened. I also added the 2012 founding date and the March 2025 expansion announcement as context.

Bagel Café Expands to 20 Branches With 8 Million Shekel Investment

Bagel Café, the kosher chain built around the New York-style bagel, is opening eight new branches by mid-2027 in an expansion valued at 8 million shekels. Three of the new locations, in Kiryat Ono, Hadera and Petah Tikva, are already operating. Five more are under construction at TLV Mall in Tel Aviv, the 1000 complex in Rishon LeZion, and in Beit Shemesh, Be'er Sheva and Holon. Once they open, the chain will grow from 15 branches to 20.

New York Bagels, Israeli Addresses

The American bagel has grown increasingly popular in Israel in recent years. Bagel Café bakes its bagels on-site at each branch using the New York method, and prepares its fillings, cheeses, salads and spreads fresh daily.

The chain serves an American-style dairy menu and offers catering platters for events, all under mehadrin dairy kashrus supervision. Most branches operate as kiosks inside major shopping malls, with seating nearby. The company says the fast-service model keeps opening costs relatively low and makes branches profitable for franchisees.

From Jerusalem to the Sharon

Bagel Café began as a single Jerusalem café in 2012. It now has four branches in the capital, at Malcha Mall, the Ramot Eshkol Center, which operates under Badatz Eidah Chareidis supervision, Rechavia and the German Colony. It also operates in Mevasseret Zion at Harel Mall, Efrat at the HaTe'ena Center, Modiin at Azrieli Mall, Netanya at Ir Yamim Mall, Kfar Saba at Kfar Saba HaYeruka Mall and Ra'anana at Renanim Mall.

The chain is owned by Tomer and Shamrit Tuti, a married couple who run the business together. The current expansion follows a March 2025 announcement in which the chain, then operating 10 branches, said it would invest more than 5 million shekels in six new locations.

"The expansion of the chain, and especially the new branches we are announcing today, is a result of the growing demand for our products, for the freshness and for assembling dishes on-site in front of the customer," Tomer Tuti said. "Our varied menu allows us to expand to many cities across the country. We plan to keep growing in the coming years and to keep serving tasty dishes of uncompromising quality."

Tuti said the chain's focus on made-to-order service sets it apart at a time when much of the industry is moving toward screen ordering and minimal contact with staff. "For us, that personal attention is an advantage and part of the chain's vision," he said.

Breakfast and Baked Goods

The breakfast menu includes bagel sandwiches made to order, build-your-own salads, quiches, specialty hot drinks and American-style iced frappés. The chain says it will soon launch a new protein and health menu.

Each branch also runs a deli and an American-style bakery counter. Customers can buy bagels, salads and cheeses by weight to take home, along with cookies, muffins, cruffins and other baked goods. The chain's events department supplies catering platters for office gatherings, team days, bar mitzvahs and other celebrations.
