BREAKING: Explosions Rock Strategic Iranian Island Near Strait of Hormuz

Iranian news agencies reported explosions heard on Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf and in the city of Bandar Lengeh. According to the reports, air defense systems were activated following the incidents.

The Fars news agency said the explosions on Qeshm Island, which holds high strategic importance due to its location, occurred for "unknown reasons." According to the reports, the incident involved an American strike on the island's air defense system. At the same time, explosions were also reported in Bandar Lengeh, a port city located near the Strait of Hormuz.

As of now, no official information has been released regarding the circumstances of the explosions or any damage caused. The reports come against the backdrop of heightened tensions in the region and fears of further escalation in the Persian Gulf.

On another front, the Iran-backed Houthis have been conducting attacks against Saudi Arabia, including strikes on civilian airports and other critical infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that a round of negotiations with the United States ended without a breakthrough. According to the reports, the Iranian delegation left Doha after Qatar-mediated talks concluded without an agreement.

However, Tehran emphasized that contacts with Washington have not been severed and that consultations through intermediaries continue.
