Panic in Brussels: Bomb Threat at Grand Synagogue – Streets Closed
Panic in Brussels as the Grand Synagogue is evacuated over a bomb threat – streets were closed, but no suspicious items were found after police inspection.

Panic erupted this morning (Tuesday) in the Jewish community of Brussels, Belgium, after local police reported a suspected bomb at the city’s Grand Synagogue. The threat appears to have come from a phone call received early in the morning.
Brussels’ Chief Rabbi, Albert Guigui, said he was instructed by security services not to go to the synagogue, to prevent civilians from entering the area during inspections. “The goal was to prevent anyone who is not part of the security forces from entering,” the rabbi said, adding that signals indicated the synagogue would likely reopen after the checks.
According to an official police statement, the alert was received shortly after 6 a.m., prompting the establishment of a security perimeter around the synagogue and the closure of nearby streets. Following a thorough search conducted by security forces, no suspicious items or explosives were found, and the threat was determined to be false.
