Emergency responders converged on Camp Shopron, also known as Camp Bnei Shimon Yisroel Shopron, located on Route 42 in Fallsburg, New York, on the afternoon of August 12, 2026, following reports of an electrical incident involving live wires.
According to Catskills Hatzolah sources, live electrical wires reportedly caught fire and may have exploded or fallen. Initial emergency reports indicated at least two people unconscious, with that number potentially rising, prompting multiple Hatzolah units including buses and the mobilization of medevac helicopters.
Later updates from Catskills Scoop and The Yeshiva World reported that three children suffered severe burns. All three were conscious at the time of reporting and were being airlifted to a trauma center for treatment. Names for Tehillim (psalms) for those affected were expected to be released once confirmed by family members or official sources.
