HaRav David Batzri zt"l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat HaShalom and one of Israel's most prominent mekubalim, was niftar Friday morning at the age of 85. His levaya will take place today at 14:00 from the yeshiva of mekubalim on Tachkemoni Street in Yerushalayim, proceeding to the Sanhedria cemetery.
His petirah came hours after a sudden deterioration in his medical condition. According to those close to him, HaRav Batzri zt"l collapsed suddenly Friday morning at his home on Rav Landa Street in Bnei Brak and required resuscitation. Hatzalah teams rushed to the scene, performed CPR, and evacuated him sedated and intubated to Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer, where his passing was pronounced.
HaRav Batzri zt"l led Yeshivat HaShalom for mekubalim in Yerushalayim and was regarded as one of the senior mekubalim in Israel. Throughout his life he authored numerous sefarim and hosted radio programs on Kan Moreshet and Radio Yerushalayim.
