WESTERN WALL VISITOR ADVISORY: Strict Entry Limits and Live Broadcasts for Passover 2026

Following Home Front Command directives, the Western Wall Plaza is restricted to 50 worshipers at a time, with live streaming available for those unable to attend in person.

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation has announced significant changes to prayer arrangements and site access In accordance with current security guidelines. To ensure public safety, entry to the Western Wall Plaza is currently limited to a maximum of 50 people at any given time.

Access and Safety Guidelines

For the safety of all visitors, the Israel Police are permitting entry only to designated protected areas within the plaza. Please note the following operational changes:

  • Entry Point: Access is available exclusively through the security checkpoint on HaGai Street via the Muslim Quarter.
  • Old City of Jerusalem - Tourism Sites: All tourism sites and tunnels in the Western Wall area remain closed to the public until further notice.
  • Stay Limits: Due to high demand and limited capacity, the duration of stay within the plaza is restricted to allow as many people as possible to pray. Long wait times are expected.

Passover 2026: Priestly Blessing (Birkat Kohanim)

The traditional Priestly Blessing ceremony for Passover 5786 (2026) is scheduled for Sunday, April 5th (Nissan 18th). The schedule is as follows:

  • Shacharit (Morning Prayer): 08:45
  • Birkat Kohanim (Shacharit): 09:30
  • Musaf Prayer: 10:15
  • Birkat Kohanim (Musaf): 10:30

Global Live Stream

Because of the strict 50-person limit, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation encourages the global Jewish community to participate virtually. All prayers and ceremonies will be broadcast live to the world via the Western Wall cameras on thethe Foundation’s official website.
