12 tanker attacks in Strait of Hormuz linked to IRGC over past week

Between September 29 and October 5, UK Maritime Trade Operations documented 12 tanker attacks and one IRGC threat incident in the Strait of Hormuz. The attacks included: 3 tankers hit by projectiles on September 29; 1 tanker struck causing fire on October 1; 2 tankers hit on October 2, one suffering fire and temporary blackout; 1 crude oil tanker struck above waterline on October 3; 2 tankers hit on October 4, including an LPG carrier; and 3 tankers struck on October 5, one with engine room fire. Separately on October 5, the IRGC ordered an inbound tanker 11 nautical miles north of Khasab, Oman, to turn back or face targeting. The vessel complied. The U.S. has not responded to the attacks.
