Commercial vessel catches fire after attack off Oman coast; Iran claims destroying U.S. drone vessel

A Panama-flagged commercial ship caught fire following an attack approximately 1.6 nautical miles off Oman's Musandam coast. The Royal Navy of Oman evacuated all 25 crew members, the country's Maritime Security Centre reported. The vessel, weapon type, and attacker remain unidentified. Separately, Iran's Revolutionary Guards Navy claimed it destroyed a U.S. unmanned vessel in the eastern Strait of Hormuz and that two tankers halted south of the strait after ignoring radio warnings. The U.S. military has not confirmed any loss, and the Iranian claims remain unverified.
