Defense Minister Katz directs IDF to IRGC, Basij, and nuclear program leadership

Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the IDF to intensify its strikes on regime targets in Tehran, with the goal of destabilizing Iran’s leadership and increasing deterrence following continued missile fire on Israeli civilian centers. After holding a high-level situational assessment Friday morning with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, Intelligence Director, Operations Directorate, and senior Ministry of Defense officials, Katz instructed the military to “strike all symbols of government, repression forces like the Basij, and the regime’s power base—the Revolutionary Guards.” “The objective is to prompt a wide evacuation of civilians from Tehran,” Katz said, “and to erode the regime’s control while continuing to eliminate facilities and scientists critical to Iran’s nuclear program—until all the goals of the operation are fully achieved.”
