Concern continues Monday night for Neriya Leiter, who was critically wounded in the ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint on Route 443. Against the backdrop of his condition, a widespread call has been issued to the public to increase prayers for the recovery of Neriya Dov ben Chana and to dedicate time each day to reciting Tehillim.
"My brothers and friends, in these difficult hours when Neriya Dov ben Chana is in critical condition and fighting for his life, this is a great moment of favor to open the gates of heaven," the call states. "The power of a united public is immeasurably great, and the power of the prayers of many tears apart any decree."
The message asks the public to dedicate even one minute a day: "We call on each and every person to dedicate just one minute each day for his complete recovery, to read a chapter of Tehillim or say a short prayer, so that the Creator of the world will sweeten for him the attribute of judgment with the attribute of mercy, and send him a complete healing from heaven."
The call also mentions the heavy loss that has already struck the Leiter family, after Neriya's brother fell in the war. "The heart is broken and bleeding. Neriya Dov ben Chana was very seriously wounded in the attack and is now fighting for his life in critical condition. His family has already paid the heaviest price, his brother fell in the war."
The message continues: "Mother Chana cannot bear another loss! She cannot lose another son! Please, stop for a second from whatever you are doing, open your heart and tear open the heavens in prayer for his complete recovery. Every chapter of Tehillim, every small kabbalah and every recitation of 'Amen' can bring about a miracle!"
Attached to the call are a prayer for the recovery of Neriya Dov ben Chana and chapter 20 of Tehillim, along with a request to spread the message and expand the circle of those praying.
Already after the attack, a call was published in the community of Eli asking residents to pray for Leiter's recovery. "Neriya Leiter, son of Chani, was seriously wounded today in the ramming attack," the Eli secretariat announced. "Let us all pray for his recovery and for the recovery of all the sick and wounded of the IDF and Israel, Neriya Dov ben Chana. May we hear good news."
