16 Killed in Sinai Bus Crash

At least 16 people were killed and 28 others injured in a serious traffic accident Wednesday morning on the Dahab-Nuweiba highway in southern Sinai, Egypt. According to a statement from Egypt's Ministry of Health, the crash occurred when a bus overturned while traveling near the Al-Saada area.

Emergency services dispatched 20 ambulances to the scene to evacuate casualties and provide first aid. The injured were transported to medical facilities for treatment, though authorities have not yet released details about their conditions, stating only that "medical teams continue to monitor their situations."

Meanwhile, Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced he had ordered hospitals in Sinai to raise their alert levels. He emphasized that "the victims will receive all necessary treatment. Local teams are working at full capacity, and developments are being monitored continuously."
