The Israeli radio station issued an unusual public statement after Prime Minister Netanyahu placed senior broadcaster Yaakov Bardugo in a reserved spot on the Likud party list
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his decision to place veteran broadcaster Yaakov Bardugo in the 11th position on the Likud list—a "reserved" spot that guarantees a Knesset seat if the party performs as expected in elections.
According to Likud's official statement, Bardugo is the son of Yehonatan and Kochava, who were born in Morocco. He is a lawyer, media personality and political commentator who currently hosts programs on Channel 14 television and Galei Israel radio. Previously, he served as a commentator and host on IDF Radio (Galei Tzahal) and wrote a column for the Israel Hayom newspaper. Before entering the media world, Bardugo held senior administrative positions as CEO of Mifal HaPayis (Israel's national lottery) and as director-general of the Center for Local Government in Israel.
