German President sets antisemitism rejection as condition for coalition negotiations

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier declared that rejecting antisemitism must be a condition wherever coalitions are negotiated and governments are formed in Germany. He stated that anyone chanting "Death to the Jews" or demanding the annihilation of the Jewish state must find no understanding or applause in any political party. Steinmeier emphasized that antisemitism must not be allowed to influence government policy anywhere in Germany.
