Police forces were called Monday morning to Sanhedrin Street in Holon following reports of an explosion in the area. Bomb squad officers arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances, examining whether the blast was caused by an explosive device or a grenade thrown toward the courtyard of an apartment in a residential building.
A 15-year-old boy was critically injured in the incident. Magen David Adom paramedics who responded to the scene provided initial emergency medical treatment before evacuating him to Wolfson Hospital. He was conscious but suffering from serious injuries to his body.
MDA medic Noam Barzani described the scene: "We saw the boy conscious and suffering from serious injuries to his body. We provided him with life-saving medical treatment and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious condition."
