Josh Breiner, a journalist at Haaretz, weighed in on the controversy surrounding efforts to disqualify Arab MK Sami Abu Shehadeh from the upcoming elections, and said it should be done.
"There is a moral obligation to disqualify Sami Abu Shehadeh from running," Breiner wrote. "Excuses like 'on October 8 I didn't know the scale of the disaster' are unacceptable. There is no place for terror supporters in the Knesset."
But Breiner then turned his attention to National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who has been among those calling for Abu Shehadeh's disqualification. "By the way, why doesn't Ben-Gvir support disqualifying everyone who was actually convicted of supporting a terror organization?" he wrote.
"Oh right, he himself was convicted of supporting a terror organization. I remembered."
Journalist Aviad Glickman also called for Abu Shehadeh to be barred from running. "Sami Abu Shehadeh should in my view be disqualified from running for elections to the Knesset of Israel," he said.
