Jennifer Eckhart, the former Fox Business associate producer who accused ex-Fox News anchor Ed Henry of rape in a high-profile 2020 lawsuit, has died at 36.
Eckhart was found dead at her home in Hobe Sound, Florida, on Saturday, September 19. A spokesperson for the Martin County Sheriff's Office confirmed to TMZ that her death was ruled a suicide, while Deadline, citing USA Today, reported that an official cause of death had not yet been announced.
Born and raised in Miami, Eckhart joined Fox in 2013 and spent seven years at Fox Business, where she produced The Claman Countdown and booked segments with major business figures. She also appeared on Fox News, Fox News Radio and Fox Nation. Before Fox, she worked as a correspondent for ESPN Radio.
In 2020, Eckhart filed a lawsuit against Fox News and Henry, alleging that he sexually harassed and raped her while they both worked at the network. The suit claimed Fox knew Henry had harassed other women and should have acted, and that the network fired her in retaliation for coming forward. Henry denied the allegations and maintained that their relationship was consensual. Fox fired Henry in 2020 following an investigation into separate misconduct allegations.
After leaving Fox, Eckhart rebuilt her career in podcasting. In August 2021, she launched Reinvented with Jen Eckhart, a weekly show featuring stories of reinvention from celebrities, athletes and business leaders. Early guests included Gretchen Carlson, the former Fox News anchor who sued network chief Roger Ailes for sexual harassment. Eckhart described herself publicly as a survivor of sexual assault and founded The Reinvented Project, a nonprofit supporting trauma survivors through animal-assisted healing.
In June 2025, Eckhart was arrested and accused of attacking her then-boyfriend. The assault charge was later dropped.
Her final Instagram post, on June 1, struck an upbeat tone. She said she was glad to be back on social media and teased new projects she was working on.
