Haifa Beaches Reopen After Warning Lifted

Water quality tests return to normal levels following 24-hour closure

Israel's Health Ministry announced Wednesday that beaches in Haifa have been cleared for swimming, lifting a warning issued just 24 hours earlier. The all-clear came after new water quality tests showed normal microbiological levels at Carmel Beach and Students Beach.

The ministry noted in its announcement that swimming is permitted only at officially designated beaches.

The warning had been issued Tuesday evening after routine water quality monitoring detected abnormal microbiological readings in the Mediterranean waters off Haifa's coast. Health officials continued testing throughout the closure period, and the latest samples confirmed that water quality had returned to acceptable standards, allowing the beaches to reopen to the public.
