New details have emerged about the role played by Evyatar, the haredi (ultra-Orthodox) son of Mali Yahalomi, in the search operation that concluded last week in Argentina. According to a report on Israel's Channel 12 News, Evyatar is a yeshiva student who stayed behind in Israel with his young son and had been financially supported by his mother until she vanished.
Despite their close family ties, he knew nothing about the plans his mother and sister Liel had made. Family sources say he was as shocked as other relatives when it became clear the two women had disappeared without any advance warning.
