IDF Strikes Hamas Weapons Depots and Rocket Sites in Gaza

Israeli military forces and the Shin Bet security service conducted strikes Tuesday across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, destroying three weapons storage facilities belonging to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The operation also eliminated a rocket launch pit that had been used during the war to fire projectiles into Israeli territory.

According to a joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet, the terrorist organizations had stored dozens of weapons of various types inside the facilities, including rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, and additional combat equipment.

Israeli intelligence identified that Hamas operatives have recently been accessing these storage sites and using the weapons inside for guard duties and to consolidate control over the Gaza Strip. This activity indicates the organization's attempts to rebuild its military capabilities and maintain combat resources.

The strikes come amid a series of military operations the IDF has carried out in recent days throughout Gaza. Earlier this week, Israeli forces eliminated Muhammad al-Qadi, a Nukhba force company commander who led the raid on the Sufa outpost during the October 7 massacre and participated in holding hostages in the Rafah area.

In addition, elite Shin Bet and IDF units successfully captured Hamas's chief of general security in Gaza last week during a complex operation in western Gaza City. The mission involved a combination of ground forces and massive airstrikes designed to remove threats and provide cover for the troops.

An IDF spokesperson emphasized that "the IDF will continue to act decisively to degrade the capabilities of terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip and thwart any attempt to rebuild them or hold combat resources intended to harm our forces." IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed throughout the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue operating to remove any immediate threats.
