IDF Chief of Staff meets religious-Zionist rabbis, calls for increased enlistment

Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir held a meeting Tuesday with rabbis from the religious-Zionist yeshiva world, alongside senior IDF commanders. Zamir expressed appreciation for yeshivot and pre-military academies' role in encouraging enlistment to combat service, noting the decisive contribution and sacrifice of yeshiva students during the current war. He presented the IDF's current manpower needs, emphasizing unprecedented operational challenges across combat arenas. Zamir stated the IDF is still short thousands of combat soldiers and needs every soldier to carry out missions and solidify achievements. He emphasized the Joint Service Order as a cornerstone for integrating diverse populations, enabling service side by side while maintaining dignity of all who serve, and pledged to strengthen implementation of this and other directives.
