The Israel Defense Forces confirmed Friday that it eliminated two senior terror operatives in Gaza overnight, both holding command positions within their respective organizations. One served as a commander in Hamas's military wing, while the other led an observation unit for Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Israeli forces targeted a Hamas commander who participated in the October 7 massacre and a senior Islamic Jihad observation unit leader in separate operations

According to the IDF statement, Ibrahim Nabil Ibrahim Bas was killed in a strike in the Shati area. Bas commanded forces within Hamas's military wing and was among the terrorists who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre.
In a separate operation in the Tzabra area, Israeli forces eliminated Hamdi Ahmed Hamed Kachil, who commanded an observation unit for Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
"Throughout the war and in recent times, these terrorists advanced terror operations against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, and attempted to rebuild the capabilities of terror organizations while systematically violating the ceasefire," the military said in its statement. "The strikes were carried out to remove the threat. IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed throughout the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to eliminate any immediate threat."
