The United States appears to be sending contradictory signals on Iran policy. After two days of reports indicating Washington had no plans to resume strikes against the Islamic Republic, President Donald Trump raised fresh questions Friday about his intentions by re-sharing a provocative social media post.
On Truth Social, Trump's preferred platform, the president re-posted an AI-generated image depicting himself in a suit and sunglasses, holding a rifle. Behind him, the digitally created scene showed massive explosions erupting across Iran. The image bore the caption "No more Mr. Nice Guy" in English, accompanied by an American flag emoji.
This marks the second time Trump has shared the same image on the platform. He originally posted it on April 29, just weeks after a ceasefire began, before any memorandum of understanding was signed, and at a time when Iranian demands in negotiations were particularly extreme. "Iran is incapable of getting its act together. They don't know how to sign a deal without nuclear [weapons]," Trump wrote at the time. "They better start being smart!"
