Despite a major buildup of American forces in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump is not committing to renewed military action against Iran. In an interview with the American network 12 News, Trump claimed the United States has already won the confrontation, and could walk away from it as soon as tomorrow.

"We're going to win this war very soon," Trump said. "We can win this war tomorrow. Honestly, we can walk away today, because we've already won. We just need to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon."

Trump's statement comes against the backdrop of a substantial American military buildup in the region over recent weeks. According to information released to the American press by the Pentagon, the United States has been reinforcing combat forces in the area for weeks, and will soon deploy an additional aircraft carrier and a force of ten thousand troops.

At the same time, the carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt will join the USS George Washington, already operating in the region, and the USS George H.W. Bush, which is making its way back to the area after a stopover in Asia. All this while the entire region remains on edge, with daily reports of the possibility of an immediate return to fighting.
