IDF Vehicle Hits IED in Gaza Yellow Line on Yom Kippur

An IDF engineering vehicle struck an explosive device on Monday during routine operations in the Yellow Line corridor in the Gaza Strip. No soldiers were injured in the incident.

The IDF characterized the incident as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Hamas terror organization. In response, Israeli forces struck Hamas terror infrastructure that the organization had used to advance terror operations against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.

IDF forces under Southern Command remain deployed throughout the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat, an IDF spokesperson stated.

The incident adds to a series of security breaches recorded in recent weeks along the Yellow Line corridor. Over the past two weeks, Palestinian suspects managed to cross the secured perimeter on two separate occasions and approach IDF positions at dangerously close range.

In one incident, a Palestinian suspect was documented crossing the defensive line and advancing hundreds of meters unimpeded toward IDF forces. The suspect was filmed wandering among military vehicles parked in the area, advancing to the immediate vicinity of a guard post. At a certain point, the soldier on guard duty detected unusual movement and spotted the terrorist peering at him from between the vehicles. The soldier opened fire.

In another recent incident in the sector, a terrorist crossed the Yellow Line and reached extremely close range to IDF positions. According to reports, one suspect was arrested in one incident, while the other was eliminated.

Parallel to the events in Gaza, Israel's security establishment is conducting a wide-ranging, multi-dimensional offensive to dismantle terror infrastructure across all theaters. IDF, Shin Bet, and Border Police forces are operating continuously with integrated capabilities, maintaining maximum alertness and intensive operational activity aimed at choking off terror networks before they can carry out their plots.

In a swift and precise operation conducted under the Menashe Brigade and directed by the Shin Bet, Duvdevan unit fighters and Border Police forces raided the village of Qabatiya and arrested two dangerous terrorists who were planning to carry out a murderous terror attack in the immediate timeframe. The rapid and precise action by the forces cut short the deadly plot and prevented a disaster that could have ended in bloodshed.
