IDF expects over 3,500 ultra-Orthodox recruits this draft year
The IDF anticipates that ultra-Orthodox recruitment in the current draft year will exceed 3,500, with the exact figure to be determined soon at the end of the 2025 draft year. While still below targets, this represents a significant increase from previous years: approximately 2,800 ultra-Orthodox recruits enlisted in the 2024 draft year, and only about 2,200 in 2023. The projection comes amid ongoing protests over ultra-Orthodox conscription.
